Matt co-founded Flood Tide in July of 2024 and serves as the company’s Head of Research. He has over 15 years of experience analyzing companies and financial markets, and focuses on company specific fundamental analysis, industry research, idea generation, and portfolio management for both long and short equities investments.

Prior to founding Flood Tide, Matt was a Senior Director within Accordion Partner’s turnaround and restructuring advisory practice where he gained on-the-ground experience managing operations and financial and strategic planning across a wide variety of industries, including technology, media, telecom, consumer discretionary, energy, healthcare, industrials, insurance, and more. Prior to his time as a turnaround and restructuring advisor, Matt worked as an Associate at Goldman Sachs where he worked with Flood Tide’s fellow co-founder Will Hyde where they supported multiple trading desks as controllers.

Matt earned his Bachelors of Business Administration with a major in Finance from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor (CIRA).
